Highway Maintenance
There are many pressures facing road users and highways operators in the 21st century, not least traffic congestion, road safety and
environmental impact. At Blockade Services we help maintain the road network within the South East, ensuring that traffic keeps flowing on
the roads of Surrey, Sussex and Kent to make driving a more enjoyable experience.
Currently we are working on night-work contracts within Sussex and Surrey, most notably on the A23 at Gatwick Airport and on the M25 between Junctions 8 and 11 - both sides of the motorway.
On all highway maintenance work, we have an on-call Operations Manager who is available 24/7. This ensures that we remain open to our clients with the ability to deal with all requirements immediately. Coupled to this, we have back-up field service vans with 24 hour response, 7 days a week to ensure that our modern fleet of Tippers are fully supported at all times.
Environmental Concerns
Blockade Services is an environmentally aware company and ensures that all waste products carried away from any site are either recycled
or disposed of in accordance with our Environmental Policy.
The material removed from the reconstruction or rehabilitation of asphalt roads (road planings) are taken directly to our site storage
facility close to Junction 8 (M25).
Where 'Deep Planing' of old road surfaces is concerned, these materials are stored seperatly and checked and where tar products
are found, these planings are invariably disposed of as hazardous/special wastes and are not recycled.
Site safety is paramount at Blockade Services and is built into everything we do. We are a BS EN ISO 9001 registered firm and registered and regulated by the Environment Agency under the Control of Pollution (Amendment) Act 1989, you can be assured that our Quality Management Systems are assessed and approved.
